Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the CivilCam Pro app ("the app") collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. The app is made by FunPixelNest Technologies LLP ("we"), Hyderabad, India. Contact: info@funpixelnest.com.
The short version
- CivilCam Pro is a site-photo camera for engineers. You can use it without an account: then your photos, projects and reports stay on your phone.
- If you sign in, the details of your photos (project, chainage, activity, date, GPS, description) and a small preview are kept in our cloud database so you can use them on another phone and share them with your team.
- Full-size photos are kept in your own Google Drive or OneDrive, only if you turn that on. We cannot see the rest of your Drive or OneDrive.
- We never sell your data and never use your site photos or locations for advertising.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. CivilCam Pro (subscription) removes them.
- You can delete your account and cloud data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect and why
| Information | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you take or import, and their details: project, activity, chainage, side, element, description, hindrance details, date and time | Always stored on your phone. If you sign in, the details and a small preview (about 320 pixels wide) are copied to our cloud database (Google Cloud Firestore). | To run the app, make reports, and when signed in to back up, sync and share with your team. |
| Precise location (GPS), height above sea level, compass direction and the nearby place name | When you take a photo with location turned on, or import a photo that already has GPS in it | To stamp the photo and place it on the site map and chainage strip. The place name is looked up with your phone's built-in Android geocoder service. Location is only read while you use the camera; the app does not track you in the background. |
| Full-size photos | Only if you turn on "Keep full photos in my Google Drive" or "… in my OneDrive" | Backup in your own cloud: Google Drive folder "CivilCam" (the app can only see files it created, drive.file access) or OneDrive › Apps › CivilCam Pro (the app can only see that folder). |
| Name, designation and company you type in | When you set up the app | Printed on photos and reports, and shown to your team. |
| E-mail address, name and account ID from Google, Microsoft or Apple | Only if you sign in | To create your account, keep your data private to you, and let teammates add you to a project. |
| E-mail addresses of engineers you add to a team project | When you add them | So they can see the project and its photos when they sign in. |
| Messages you send through "Support & suggestions", and, if you tick the box, the app version and phone model | When you send one | To answer you and fix problems. They are sent by e-mail and, if you are signed in, also kept in our cloud database. |
| Advertising ID and approximate device information | Free version only | To show ads (Google AdMob). In the EU, UK and other places where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first; you can change it in Account › Ad privacy choices. |
| Subscription status | If you buy CivilCam Pro | To remove ads. Payments are handled by Google Play; we never see your card or bank details. |
The app uses the camera only when you open it to take photos. Photos from other camera apps are read only when you pick them or choose a folder to sync.
Who can see your data
- Personal accounts (for example Gmail, Outlook, iCloud): only you.
- Company accounts (an e-mail address on your company's own domain): other signed-in engineers with the same company domain can see your company's projects, photo details and previews. This is how the app shares work inside a company.
- Team projects: the engineers whose e-mail addresses were added to the project can see its photo details and previews. To let them open a full photo, the app gives that photo a view-only link in your Drive or OneDrive; the link is stored only in the team project, but anyone who has the link can view that one photo.
- Reports and shared photos: only go where you send them (WhatsApp, e-mail and so on).

We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Microsoft identity platform (only if you choose them), Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform, and Google Play Billing.
